Jace knew that this place was too good for him to be the only one who knew about it. He had seen much wildlife around this bubbling brook, but not one of them had yet been canine. So today was to be another day of waiting. It had been a long time since he had met another wolf, and he was certainly not a lonesome type of person.
In the meantime, though, there was fish to be had. Fluffed gray paws tenderly stepped into the moving waters. The sunny summer day gave the wolf a great atmosphere to be spending his day in, and the fruitful rapids was a metaphorical barrel for these fish to be sitting in. It was only moments before Jace returned to shore with lunch in his jaws. A chorus of animals accented his meal as he lay down to enjoy his scaly treat.

He said blankly to himself. To the right of him the skies appeared light, the sun was in the sky, distant. Many calming colors such as the regular blue skies and perfect white clouds warmed him. Like a sign of hope, yet soon the nights blanket would again to cover it up, taking that small amount of hope away. Absolutely no power to stop it, just how he felt. Where Menelaus stood, it was very different here. He was so used to common gray skies, that let out a blanket of freezing rain. The clouds would drain themselves freely the whole day. As the large cold droplets took a journey toward the earth. It was a scenery Menelaus had impounded in his head, so with his lovely weather, he felt at ease for once. A Phantom feeling of the cool water start to soak in to his coat. He blinked once, his eyes refreshing themselves. He glanced around, mountains were in sight. Looking to the sky, he had to squint as the bright sun seemed like a treat and burned his vision. He lifted the side of his muzzle giving a annoyed expression. It was clear this wolf was in no normal state of mind. Menelaus was trying to withdraw himself from his memories. He had not even eaten in days. Growing weak and tired more emotionally than physically. Menelaus was still loathing over what had happened to Noir, his former master. The thoughts of her name, her voice it recked him to no end. He was hopeless, and completely lost at this moment. The sudden urge to go wild and destroy had over raged him recently. Or other times, like now, he wished not to live any longer, to wander his life away. This wolf, full of vibrant white colors and that strange and so charismatic pattern of fur on top of his head. Misty blue eyes still glanced toward the skies, "It's nice, isn't it, Noir." He whispered into the warm breeze. Suddenly blowing from behind him, sending his sorrow toward the distance ahead of him. He'd hope the memories would flood away when he did such things, however the fact if Noir was even a real wolf or existed remained deep in his conscience. It was that single moment, when every thing seemed to freeze. His mind sent a sudden burst of pain shooting through the back of his head and toward the cervical curve of his spine. Twitching, he retracted his head back to his main quarters. He and no one knew of what he was suffering but he'd never admit that there may be something wrong. Instead he smelt something in the distance, completely shrugging of the pain he focused around the other. "Hello, stranger." He huffed, his monstrous figure soon becoming a dark shadow with the tree's and sun working together.
ooc; kind of threw in his past again to explain his bi-polarness ;p

White teeth absentmindedly gnawed on the particularly delicious treat that Jace had found himself. The day was a nice one, blessed by Skoll to be warm and bright. Finishing his meal, Jace worked himself into a warm, content state that heralded nothing more than a nap. It was in this moment of extreme comfort that his peripheral vision picked up on another wolf entering this verible oasis. It did not register in his mind what was happening until his company uttered a greeting. Jace's eyes snapped open from their half closed state with an audibly surprised "Oh!"
He quickly got to his feet, "Well hello yourself," he responded. "I figured if I waited in a place like this I would eventually happen upon someone, or they would happen upon me, as it were." Jace's naturally silly and friendly nature did not hesitate in letting him talk to this new wolf with ease. One thing he had never been horribly good at, though, was introductions.
"What is your name?" he asked with a naive lack of tact. He quickly realized that it was not the most graceful way for him to ask the question, but it was too late to go back, so he simply eyed his company with conversational interest.
OOC: Heads up, I might be a little slow on the replying until like wednesday, but I will still try my best to get on here for some postin action.

- - x Every now and again Ink would drift off into a peaceful slumber, but then be startled awake when her paw slipped into the flowing water. It had been a great day to just sit out by the river and soak up the sun. A lazy day for her, more or less. She opened one eye, the cicadas chirping their obnoxious call and the last time she had checked it had been morning, but now the sun was in the middle of the sky.
She rolled over onto her stomach and yawned, her pink tongue rolled over white canines that were stained just a tad, making them appear a little more yellow than white. A light, soft breeze ran through her thick, mostly black fur. Her lower jaw looked as though it had been dipped in paint as well as her two front paws. Her tail had some white hairs here and there, but mostly it was black.
She stood and bent over the running water and lapped up enough to quench her thirst. Her attention was then drawn to the sound of voices, though she was too far to make out what was being said. She was a little curious, and with nothing better to do she started padding in the general direction from where the voices were coming from. Not long after, two figures came into view. One was as white as snow and the other an assortment of gray shades. Before she made herself known, she regarded them both with uncertainty and started to assess the encounter. She doubted either of them were going to fight each other, even though she actually wouldn't have minded getting in on it, she closed the distance with a light sprint.
Hope I'm not interrupting anything, but I heard voices and I couldn't help myself. She actually didn't mind if she was interrupting something or not, she just felt like being polite about her intrusion on their conversation.

The gray wolf in front of him had these soft blue eyes that spoke no aggression as Menelaus dared to try and ease his inner curiosity for simple company. Menelaus had been stubborn up until recently to acknowledge anyone and now he was secretly pleading for some wolf alike contact and reassurance of the peaceful place he was currently wandering.
"Well hello yourself,,, I figured if I waited in a place like this I would eventually happen upon someone, or they would happen upon me, as it were."
The other didn't exactly tense but there was a bit of hesitation as he asked of Menelaus' name. "What is your name?" The large white wolf let his lungs filtered oxygen throughout his whole body. His chest wavering as he accepted this was a peaceful meeting, he needed to learn to cope with others more fluently and with ease. As other wolves would in such a situation, he knew either it was peaceful or there would be a break of tension and blood could be spilled. He wanted nothing of the sort.
"Hope I'm not interrupting anything, but I heard voices and I couldn't help myself."
The reason to Menelaus not answering right away showed up. The long hairs and thickness on his back, tingled with sensations, knowing someone else was coming along the river bank. Menelaus took the chance to take a step back, allowing the other to come into the distant triangle. Something stuck in the back of this throat, feeling odd having not spoken to others in so long.
"I'm called, Menelaus." His voice echoed with a deep and intimidating tone, however he didn't seem... scary. Rather he seemed like a lost soul, his eyes spoke that for themselves. He rose his pale blue eyes to nod easily to the black wolfess that presented herself. The others probably felt something along the lines of strange, different. This free realm for the mortals was something Menelaus was simply not used to.

While Jace spoke, he became vaguely aware of...something. He was not sure what, and he brushed it off to simple paranoia. But it was only moments after the last vibrations lef this throat that this mere paranoia turned out to be something of reality. A black female trotted onto the scene. Jace did not know what to make of the situation, it had been only a few seconds since this first wolf had made himself known, and now this. The female entered the conversation passively. By the way she talked, these two new wolves did not know each other, a fact that brought a bit of comfort to Jace.
While he was paying attention to this new arrival, the original newcomer answered his awkward question.
"I'm called, Menelaus."
The he turned his head to look at the source of the name. It was an answer uttered in what Jace imagined as this wolf's echo to the awkwardness in his own question. There was no transition in the conversation, simply what seemed to be ignorance of what the female had said. Jace felt like he had to say something.
"Oh no, don't worry, you're not interrupting anything. Menelaus and I just met, in fact, we're about two sentences into our relationship." The words seemed to bounce out of his mouth in a happy manner. "By the way, my name is Jace, and since we're all introducing ourselves, it seems, may I inquire your name, Madam?" The last word was said in a joking manner, one that used the respectful term to make people smile and blush and say "just call me" and whatever their name happened to be.

- - x The whole time she stood there, she had been listening and watching intently. It seemed now both of the wolves were aware of her arrival, she had announced herself after all. She was quite curious to see if they would have noticed if she had simply stood there in silence, but that was far too late and she did not think these wolves were simple-minded.
She parted lips and her voice rolled out, Incognito. She said, but then she quickly added to it. Though, I'd prefer you call me Ink It was a nickname of hers that she rather liked and it was not as long as 'incognito'. She looked at the one called Jace, who seemed oddly happy. Then her gaze shifted to Menelaus, who didn't seem near as happy as Jace though still conversational.
She stepped closer, but not much, just so she could feel like she's part of the 'group'. She didn't want the silence to go on much longer so she decided to kick out a new topic. So. . . The weather's pretty nice. She said the first thing that popped into her head which made her want to roll her eyes, but she didn't. Really, Ink? Weather?! There are a thousand better things to talk about! On the inside she was giving herself hell for it and if they were paying close attention she may have looked slightly bummed out. Of course, they would have no way of knowing what made her that way if they had been particularly observant.
