Who knew what it was like to be a Loner? To have top authority yet only the ability to use it upon oneself. Having to fend off the demons of the woods enclosed around you. To live a self-fulfilling test that most wolves fall victim to. It is a term to be spat on in disgust. To the weak, every bit of the word was the call of death. To Taisto, it was a mere way of life - the only way he'd go. At least as of a few years in the past. Heir to a well respected pack, those who had the privilege of knowing the brute would not have heard him utter the word. But of course, that was years ago.
A high intensity of summer heat cloaked the air with heavy humidity. Creatures rushed for cover under silting pines and shrubs, trying to hide themselves from the malicious grasping arms of the hot spell. Rushing water from the rapids only added more hatred to the humid feel. The brute gradually padded along, tongue gasping for liquid as it dangled from his maw while nearing the edge of the cluster of trees separating himself from the river. The thicket was impenetrable, causing an agitated growl under the brutes breath. As he kept on down the line he came upon a caved in opening that a fox could barely fit through. Being on the more larger side of his species Taisto stood no chance against the mocking hole. But he just had to attempt it, the water was moaning his name.
With a thud the large brute fell to the ground. Peering inside the foreign cave he noticed a hopeful light twenty yards from where he sat. His yellow eyes adjusted to the dark after a moment, then there it was. Water. Desire came over the wolf as he forthwith took on the small menace of a tunnel. Pine needles rubbed down the brutes back like, well, something very pleasant he had never encountered before. Five more feet.. He praised to himself. However, hovering branches acted as blockades causing the wolf to bury himself into a shallow trench and claw his way under it. What lengths animals had to go through to get a drink of water..
Escaping the clutches of the darkness Taisto found himself on a large rocky bank. To each side the river flowed for hundreds of feet before edging out into a curve. A random small pine sat in-bedded in the rocks about five feet from the water, beckoning the brute to relax beneath its heightened branches. Hurriedly the wolf padded to the water bank, slipping his mud crusted paws into the calm waters. The large bank acted as a small paradise, slowing down the current enough to able animals to wade in the aquatic refreshness and enjoy the quiet ripples. Taisto collapsed his eyes for a moment, shuddering as the cold water slipped between his toes.
Taisto had the reputation of a manipulator, often leading him to a brawl between himself and unacquainted wolves. Especially with the females. He didn't give two blinks of a care for those unknown, only that he found amusement in toying with their minds with his sarcastic tones and alluring good looks. Since the separation of his family Taisto had become rouge. Ever since he lost his beloved Denali, he had never been the same. An empty body of hatred to the world and others, judging each encounter to his past relationships. However none ever turned out like them, and in turn either assaulted his acquaintances or just plain left. He was an emotional train far beyond derailment. Lost in the past.
After quenching the brute's obnoxious thirst he unhurriedly meandered to the revitalizing shade under the pine. With a huff the wolf fell back on his haunches, water still dripping from his soaked snout. A days worth of traveling under the beating sun steamed from his dense reddish-brown coat. There was no escaping the intensity of heat. Yet a few minutes under this cooling refuge would soon ease his drained body. It was the life of luxury, no one to be agitated by, no having to undergo griping from walking such a long distance as he had. However, new places new faces. Maybe a wolf or two to amuse himself with? With a sly smirk the wolf gazed up the valley to subject himself to a daydream. Let the good times roll..

- - x Ink was feeling up to a little swim, but she didn't want to just walk into the water. No, she had a much better idea. The sun had been beating down on her all day and finally the heat had gotten to her. She was burning up and was in desperate need of some refreshing. She had spotted a nice little cliff, which was actually not so high up from the looks of it, and it was close to the flowing river.
She was already close to collapsing from thirst and when she climbed over rocks all the nooks and crannies in-between, she had to admit that she was just a tad winded by it all. She gazed over the edge and realized looks can be deceiving, because it was much higher than she had originally anticipated. However, she was not so much as frightened by it as she was excited. Ink spotted a vine hanging from the tree that happened to be right beside her. She found it to be extremely convenient. She moved away from the edge and took the vine in her mouth and stepped back a few paces. She sprinted full speed and at the last possible second jumped from the edge and into the air.
She could feel the air brushing through her onyx fur and even though it was so hot with barely even a breeze, the air was quite cool as she sailed high above the ground headed straight for the river. The vine became taut then and it whipped her backward, next thing she knew she saw her tail a feet in front of her face. Instincts told her to let go and she listened accordingly. When she let go, the momentum was still carrying her int a backflip.
She hit the water with a loud splash and it did not feel remotely pleasant. It felt like she landed on ice, her back was sore as she rotated herself so that she was right-side up. She found her footing then and pushed off the ground, when she felt her muzzle break through the surface she let out a loud gasp for oxygen. She slung her head back to get the hair out of her eyes and in doing so water let go of her hair and took a dive of its own.
When Ink finally found her breath she let out an exhilarated, WOW! The water had been so cool and soothing under the hot summer day that she didn't even want to get out. She soon made her way to the shore and saw that she was drenched, her fur clinging tight to her skin making her look much less fluffy than she really is. She sighed and started shaking out the water and of course the result was water being sprayed in all directions. When she found herself dry again she looked up and realized that there had been a spectator. She was not even remotely embarrassed, but more on edge that she hadn't seen him in the first place. Sorry, didn't see you there. Her tone was normal, but with a lick of surprise hidden beneath it.

His pleasant reclusive daydreaming was soon cut short as a wolf slid into his gaze. It had been many a days since another one of his kind had came in contact with the brute. Yet it wasnt something unusual for most days he spent hidden in the back trials of the forest only passing through, occasionally stopping to rest and track down a meal. With that said, a sight like so was rarely ever shared with Taisto. However, emotions locked at a blunt stand still as he involuntarily observed the strangers antics.
What could it possibly be doing atop a cliff like so? Surely it did plan to free fall into the endless pit of rapids below. The onlooker squinted as he tried to make out what they were planning in their, what came across as, vacuous head. A low chuckle left him, yet remaining monotonous as ever.
Soon the figure maneuvered out of sight. Smart move. The brute thought, concluding that this near-contact could have ended up by a dead body floating up to the bank beside him. Adverting his attention down he began to groom out what was left of the cloak of mud from his little tunnel adventure. Suddenly a loud almost cracking sound grabbed his focus back toward the cliff to see a dark mass swinging through the air. A flying...wolf? A wolf?! Taisto's eyes widened has his jaw dropped, looking like he had just witnessed a irregular beast.
In all his travels he thought he had seen everything, but a flying wolf had certainly topped it all off. After a moment the wolf broke free from the vine, free falling backwards into the water. The wolf shuddered as he heard a splat, almost like an egg hitting a rock. That wolf was most certain to be a goner. Yet his opinion was soon proved wrong as a dark head appeared just off the bank. Regaining his normally blank expression he couldnt help but snicker at the stranger's gasp of excitement.
Then, a dark fae waded out from the water and onto the bank, completely drenched. Taisto stayed hesitant as she shook herself, lightly misting him. After a moment she had realized the male's presence yet didnt seem at all surprised that he was there.
No, excuse me. I wasnt too sure if you were wanting a crowd cheer you on at your attempt to commit suicide off those cliffs or not, so I stayed quiet. Taisto replied bluntly, overlooking the fae. Rising to his feet he slightly shook himself. Or else I would have been front row. He added with a slight chuckle to his tone, his expression still blank but with a little sarcasm lighting his eyes.

- - x A hint of a smile creeped at the edge of her mouth when Ink was listening to him. Of course, she was not new to the concept of sarcasm. She shrugged, At least I'm having a bit of fun even if one wrong move could have killed me. Even though she said that she was starting to regret doing it. No doubt she would have back problems for a while if not forever.
She regarded the male with curiosity, he seemed easy enough to talk to and figured there was no harm in a little chat. Really, she had nothing better to do. Man, it doesn't look like you've had any fun in ages. She said bluntly and realized how rude it was right after, but it's not like she could take back her words. Though, all she had done was say the truth, his expression was completely blank. If there was any emotion, it was in his eyes and had no clue how people could do that.

Taisto raised a brow, giving the expression of 'yes clearly' as he slightly nodded his head. Fun. A word of many colors. Whether its from a back breaking rush of adrenaline all the way to the devilish demands of the bloodthirsty.. everyone had a different sense to the word fun.
He thought for a moment. When exactly was the last time he had actually had fun? Of course, the many run ins of begging females looking for a one night stand, of which we wont get into, was amusing. Yet not exactly his cup of tea. The brute moved about a few steps to the side of the fae, gazing toward the wall of pines. If fun you mean by your standards of near death experiences.. I might could say it's been a few days. He replied, exaggerating his speech on the last few words.
Another few steps and his dense red pelt had completely escaped the shade. You could feel the miles of traveling from every long stride he took, taking each step as if he had mastered the art of the walk. If there had been such thing. His rough paws batted the rocks below him, giving off a soft slapping noise as they slide into each other. He gave little attention to the fae, observing everything around her. Yet everyone needed socialization, it was only natural that people communicate. Keeps the mind from going stir crazy talking to itself.
So where abouts did you come from? He asked, facing the female. His expression was still on the mellow-blank side. Not much excited the male, other than freak events or a the sight of a good meal. His stomach gave a soft growl. Since last night he had only feasted on one rabbit, hardly an appetizer for a weary traveler trying to beat the suns draining rays.
[ xD I tried to implement the humor I had gotten from your post. Caught me completely off guard!]

- - x The only reason she did those crazy stunts was because she liked the feel of adrenaline pumping through her veins. It made her feel more alive for some reason, but hey that's just one of her problems. She was about to say a real good comeback, but when he spoke again she decided to just throw it away. Too late now.
He wanted to know where she came from? Don't you think you should introducing yourself before asking a personal question like that? She didn't know one thing about the wolf, not even his name. But in answer of your question, I come from far away. Much, much farther. She would leave it at that for now.
She heard the faint sound of a growl and looked directly at the male's stomach. Her lips started to curve up into a smile, Shall we go fishing, then? She said, clearly doing her best not to burst out into laughter. She couldn't help it, he seemed so serious and brooding all the time that his stomach growling seemed like some joke.

The brute snickered at the reply to his question. Attitude. Its what he always got in a reply. Yet it wasnt as if it surprised him. Its what he wanted, what he planned for. You get what you give. Taisto had a soft spot for it, it sent his blood steadily pumping and heart racing ever so faster. It was Taisto's adrenaline rush, almost to the point where he could be abusing it like a drug.
He was silent, only nodding as she offered to join him in a game of catch the slimy fish. He ignored her mocking gesture to his stomach's antics. Slowly making his way to the water he brushed past her, almost to the point of touching her glistening pelt.
"Never did get the memo that a mere word set apart the personal from the not so much." He sullenly replied before plopping back to his haunches at the waters edge. The brutes fluffed tail twitched as his eyes followed his next meal. Before a reply could be said he looked back to the female and briskly added, "Where I come from a simple name is never needed, nor ever remembered for that matter." His words playfully flowed across his maw mixing with a seductive gaze upon the fae. Taisto then chuckled aloud and turned his attention back to the water. He lifted his paw and tapped it to the water, watching the rippling effect create a zig zag fish below.
"But you know, if your choosing to take the crooked path away from your morals, seeing as though I dont even know your name and already know where you came from.. I think I can go along with that." He laughed again, this time a little amusing emotion vibe ringing off his voice.
(SO sorry it took so long to reply, had a mishap in RL. Yay you got Coronos! Time for Eos and him to get something going, eh? :3)

- - x Ink felt him brush against her fur and she didn't think much of it though she was positive that he hadn't needed to do that. She walked over toward the shore, thinking if she should fish on land or be very still and wait in the water. That's a bit sad, don't you think. She said, commenting how where he came from names were never needed and apparently weren't remembered. She hadn't posed it as a question, though normally it would have been, but it was a mere comment.
Ink was too busy waiting for fish to swim into view to catch the male's gaze. She smiled at his last comment, Ah, your right. I played right into that, didn't I? She said, chuckling at herself. A good sized fish came into view then and she slapped it out of the water with a swiftness that didn't seem befitting of Ink. My name is Incognito, but I prefer to be called Ink. She soon realized she was enjoying herself around this stranger. Had she been a difference person, his sarcasm may have have offended her at least once if not more. However, that was not the case.

Taisto's gaze remained upon the water below, his head slightly moving as he glared down at his next innocent meal. A slight huff of a laugh escaped the brute as she replied to his past relationship statuses. He could sense the tone of her voice wasnt all too curious to travel any further into the conversation, and instead kept his focus on the fish and tucked it away for future use. He continued to stare into the sickening dizzy waves as fish swam in and out of his sight. After consistently staring into the pool, for reasons unknown, his blurred sight caught him off guard and snapped him back with a shake of his head.
With a huff the brute gradually rose to his feet and waded into the shallow waters. He listened to her next comment yet payed no attention to reply to the matter other than a mild nod of the head. He came to a stop belly deep in the river, his tail beginning to attempt to float away with the soft current. Taisto raised his head high and pointed his snout straight down toward his bulging chest, trying to use his keep wolf sight to penetrate through the tricks the water was playing.
He then began to turn to the fae to speak and instead went shying in withdraw from reflexes as a wave of water caught his eye sight, blocking his view from her. A thud caught his attention as he glanced back to the ground next to her to see a fish gasping for water. He gave the fish a blank stare then looked to the fae with the exact same expression before looking away. For wherever the wild and crazy bat-out-of -hell attack that had just exploded from her came from, his mind jumbled but his gesture was ever so blunt.
Suddenly she introduced herself as if nothing had just happened and this meal wasnt sitting there beckoning to be eaten. By this time Taisto had exited from the river and made his way several feet from the female.
"Incognito." He repeated, letting the name sit on his tongue as if sipping on a delicate wine as he turned to look at her with a interested look. The name was slightly indulgent, a name he had never came close to crossing. However little thought came along after the name as he forced his mind upon other things. He was his own manipulator, forcing things upon himself to forget or entirely never reminisce a memory. For these reasons he never could understand what he wanted or how he felt, hence the always bitter expressions.
"I think Ink would be better." He added without hesitation, clearing his mind of anything that had came up from her full name. Taisto then turned back to face the woods and shook his soaked pelt.
"Taisto." He announced, his deep voice humming out the word as he stared off into the woods. He looked back at her and twirled around and stepped closer. "And you answer your little 'question' about my past relationships.." He snickered, eying on her with a sarcastic gesture. "..Its the furthest from sad when I can say Ive got 99 problems but a bitch aint one." He added with a sly remark, this time literally laughing aloud and trotting off a few feet, almost bouncing-like. He then swirled around to eye the fish still on the ground.
"So you want to use that freak-like cat swipe again for me and share a meal prepared for two?" He questioned, looking at her with a nod as if ordering her to do so. He kept his sleek grin across his maw and eyed her with anticipation to see yet another fish go soaring through the air.
[Well my poor dog got hit by a car, broke a leg and cracked her hip so Ive been having to take her all over the place and get things together. But shes fine now, just gotta take some time to heal Dang rabbits.. Bahaha now that you mention it I pictured that xD]

- - x Ink became aware that the male waded into the water and stopped when he was belly deep in it. However, she remained poised and ready to strike a fish that came into view. She had heard some sort of squirming and had been too busy catching food too look up.
However, she did glance over at him briefly when he seemed to test her name. Then only seconds later he said that Ink would be better and she couldn't help but roll her eyes slightly. When he introduced himself she saw another good looking fish about to meet her deadly paws. However, when he said the word 'bitch' her paw halted a second too late and the fish swam away. Ink looked back over at Taisto, wondering if he had been referring to her. Or perhaps he was just referring to the whole female population.
She cocked an eyebrow at him when Taisto had said 'So you want to use that freak-like cat swipe again for me and share a meal prepared for two?'. She looked over her shoulder again, yellow orbs slanting in his direction just in time to catch that nod as if he was her leader. Was he ordering her around now? She had intended to get more fish in the first place, but being ordered to do it sort of set her off.
She looked back into the river and she didn't want to go without food. Instead of scooping the fish out with her paw, she shoved her face into the water with her jaws open. From her peripheral she saw a her prey swimming directly into her trap. She clamped her jowls shut and pulled her maw out of the water with a fish trying to squirm out of her mouth and back into the water. She felt her teeth sink all the way through the fish and it's gut spilled out into her mouth. It was quite an uncomfortable and odd feeling. Her face probably looked like she had just eaten something extremely sour. She swallowed it done as she had nothing else she could do and then finally plopped down on the ground so she could neatly pick at the scaly flesh- even though the belly was already half eaten.

He could sense a tension between the two directly after his remark. Taisto shrugged it off as he turned away to the water when no reply came from her. It was her own fault for taking the statement as some sort of insult, what made him feel the need to explain himself let alone apologize? He wasnt sorry for something he truly meant, and clearly had no intention to set the target correctly on who it was about. He didnt make an expression toward Ink as she ignored the question and instead turned himself to eye out his own meal.
Sitting back once again to his haunches he turned to eye the dead fish she had swat out from the river. Its baked scales glittered in the beaming sunlight. The fish looked like a rock, far from a tasty meal which his stomach was groaning for. Focusing back to the living prey for a moment his urge to eat soon disappeared from begging for so long. He grew bored staring down at the fish and shook his body.
Suddenly movement from behind the dead fish set his sight to fish guts dripping from Ink's soaked snout. Her expression sent him flailing back in laughter, his paw grasping his stomach as he closed his eyes and let out a series of laughs. He watched as she swallowed the gut churning meal and plopped to the ground, minding her own business with the half-eaten fish. He was still laughing, this time more silently and less exaggerated.
"Man, with you I can never guess what's coming next." He chuckled, taking in a deep breath after wards. Flying off a cliff to a fish gut fiasco, this female was unpredictable.
[/font] [OOC: Well it all started with a rabbit. And with my dog and rabbits, she does not give up. It flew across the road in front of the house and next thing I know Nellie's on the ground crying and the car skid and kept on going. UGH jacka** drivers!! Dx Hahaha sooo groosssss xD]
